Lagerstroemia indica ‘Bergerac’

Lagerstroemia indica ‘Bergerac’ has a compact, rounded head and smooth, mottled bark. Its lime-green leaves in the spring transition to green in the summer before turning brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow in the autumn. In the summer, Lagerstroemia indica ‘Bergerac’ produces large conical panicles of crimped, deep-pink to red flowers. Lagerstroemia indica is deciduous and native to India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Nepal, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Lagerstroemia indica ‘Bergerac’ was selected by Desmartis & Cie. in Bergerac, France and was introduced into commerce in 1978.
