Callistemon 'Hot Hedge'

Callistemon 'Hot Hedge' is an upright growing seedling of Callistemon viminalis 'Red Alert'. The foliage on new growth is a soft reddish-bronze colour that matures to attractive, clean and vibrant green elongated leaves. Branching habit is neat and upright, and somewhat vigorous making it ideal for hedging and shelter. Lovely red bottlebrush flowers in summer. Can be grown as a small tree. Moderately hardy to the cold, and tolerates dry spells. But requires protection from hard frosts and will benefit from some frost protection while getting established.
