Quercus ilex

Quercus ilex forms a large tree with a dense, wide-spreading crown. Its small, leathery leaves are dark-green with grey undersides. Quercus ilex is coastal and drought-hardy, and with its dense form and smaller leaves, it can be clipped into a tough hedge or screen. It is also an excellent choice for training into topiary forms.
