Michelia yunnanensis is a tidy, pyramid-shaped tree that has lustrous, dark green foliage. It blooms extensively from early spring, producing numerous small, white, star-shaped flowers from velvety buds. It is versatile, as it can be used for hedging, trimmed into any desired form, or grown as a distinctive tree. It is evergreen and native to China.
