Avocado ‘Fuerte’

Avocado ‘Fuerte’ is known for it’s exquisite taste and remarkable cold tolerance. The fruit is easy to peel, bearing well every second year. This B-type avocado not only enhances pollination for A-type varieties (e.g. Avocado ‘Hass’), but also produces pear-shaped fruit from winter till spring. Plant Avocado ‘Fuerte’ in a sunny, well-drained location, avoiding wet and compacted soils. Fertilize regularly during spring and summer, and protect the tree from wind during its early years. Avocado ‘Fuerte’ is evergreen, and originated from the garden of Alejandro Le Blanc in Atlixco, Mexico.
