Agathis robusta
Queensland Kauri
This erect, pyramidal tree features young leaves that are bronze in color and is characterized by larger leaves compared to our native kauri, Agathis australis. When young, it requires protection from frosts and wind, as well as moist soil during dry periods for establishing. Once established, it can tolerate light frosts and heavy clay soils. Agathis robusta thrives in moist, well-drained soil. Agathis robusta is evergreen and native to Papua New Guinea and the state of Queensland in Australia. Learn more about Agathis robusta.
