Ulmus parvifolia
Chinese Elm
This Elm forms a rounded head with graceful, pendulous branches and a slender trunk. Ulmus parvifolia also features peeling bark, adding to its unique appearance. Small, dark-green leaves cover the tree and turn orange and yellow in the autumn season. Ulmus parvifolia is tolerant of moderate coastal winds and drought conditions, making it an excellent choice for use as a street tree. It is also highly resistant to Dutch elm disease, adding to its overall hardiness. It is deciduous and native to China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Learn more.
