View stock levels and order form

Ulmus ‘Lobel’ is known for its vigorous growth and striking, upright growth habit. Ulmus ‘Lobel’ features bronze new leaves that mature to a deep-green color, before turning yellow in the autumn season. It is highly resistant to Dutch elm disease, adding to its overall hardiness. Ulmus ‘Lobel’ is also coastal and drought hardy, making it a great choice for landscapes located in exposed areas. It is an excellent option for use as a hardy screen tree for lining large avenues and is also highly recommended for use as a street tree. It is a hybrid between Ulmus minor ‘Bea Schwarz’ and the hybrid formed between Ulmus ‘Exoniensis’ and Ulmus wallichiana. ‘Lobel’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and was raised Dorschkamp Research Institute for Forestry and Landscape Planning in Wageningen, Netherlands.
