Syzygium australe
Lilly Pilly
Syzygium australe has a compact and upright growth habit that can be easily trimmed and shaped. The new foliage of Syzygium australe starts out maroon-red and gradually changes to a glossy, dark-green color as it matures. In the spring, Syzygium australe produces white flowers, which are then followed by small, edible, pink or dark-red fruit in autumn and winter. Syzygium australe is suitable for use as a hedge, screen, or for topiary. Once established, it is also able to tolerate both coastal and drought conditions. Syzygium australe is evergreen and native to the states of New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. Learn more about Syzygium australe.
