This Australian native has a compact, upright growth habit that responds well to trimming. New foliage is a maroon-red that changes to a glossy, dark-green as it ages. Produces white flowers in spring, followed by small, edible, dark-red fruit. Great for hedging, screening, and topiary. Once established, will tolerate coastal and drought conditions. Syzygium australe (Lilly Pilly) grows to 4m (H) x 2m (W) in 10 years.
