Description

Develops into a medium-sized tree with gracefully arching and spreading branches and small leaves. Golden-yellow spring flowers attract nectar-seeking birds. Grow in sun or semi-shade. Avoid very dry sites. Looks lovely sited overlooking water. Flowers from late-winter to mid-spring. Sophora microphylla (South Island Kowhai) grows to 5m (H) x 5m (W) in 10 years.
