Sophora chathamica
Coastal Kōwhai
Sophora chathamica bears a profusion of golden-yellow flowers from late-winter to mid-spring, adding to its visual appeal. It does not go through a juvenile tangle of shoots. Its larger leaves are more densely packed on the stems, making it an excellent choice for various landscape designs. As a very hardy it can tolerate dry and windy positions, adding to its hardiness.
