This tree differs from the California Redwood by making a denser tree with shorter scales of deep blue-green. The pyramidal form is clothed from the ground upwards. Suitable as a specimen or for use in wide-spaced shelter belts. Prefers well-drained soils. Tolerates exposed and dry sites. Beautiful tree in the landscape. Evergreen tree that grows at a moderate rate to reach 10m (H) x 5m (W) in 10 years.
