Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ has twisted and contorted branches and stems, making it an excellent choice for year-round interest in the landscape. The cut stems are popular for floral work and can be used in various floral arrangements. Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ is attractive and ornamental, and is well-suited for damp soils. During autumn, the leaves turn a golden-yellow color, adding to its seasonal interest. Salix matsudana is deciduous and native to China. Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ was originally cultivated in China and then introduced in the early 1920s to France by Joseph Hers (1884-1965).
