This is a moderately vigorous fruit tree that produces large, furrowed, oblong to pear-shaped, golden-yellow, and very aromatic fruit. The flesh is mild, tender, and light-yellow, and the fruit keeps very well. Quince ‘Smyrna’ has unusually large leaves, and it typically fruits from mid-autumn through to early-winter. Its pink buds open to white flowers in mid to late-spring, and Quince ‘Smyrna’ is self-fertile, so it doesn’t require another tree for pollination.
