In late-autumn, small dessert pears with russeted, green skin ripen. It is a prolific and reliable fruiter, and has a spreading growth habit. The fruit lasts well into winter, making it a good keeper. Its pollinators include Pyrus communis ‘Beurre Bosc’, Pyrus communis ‘Packham’s Triumph’, and Pyrus communis ‘Williams’ Bon Chrétien’. During spring, Pyrus communis ‘Winter Cole’ produces white blossoms, and in autumn, its leaves turn yellow and orange. Pyrus communis is deciduous and native to Europe.
