Pyrus calleryana ‘Aristocrat’

Pyrus calleryana ‘Aristocrat’ is a pyramidal-growing tree with an open form and spreading branches that can be trained to grow horizontally. It produces a profusion of white flowers in early spring and glossy-green leaves that turn red and yellow in autumn, adding a vibrant splash of color to any garden or street. It is tolerant of poor drainage and pollution, making it an excellent choice as a street tree or for urban environments. Pyrus calleryana is deciduous and native to China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Pyrus calleryana ‘Aristocrat’ was selected in 1969 from Pyrus calleryana seedlings grown at a nursery near Independence, Kentucky, United States and was released into commerce in 1972 (USPP3193).
