Prunus x subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’
Higan Cherry
Prunus x subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ has a compact growth habit with upright-growing branches. In the late-autumn to early-spring period, Prunus x subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ produces semi-double, scented flowers that are borne in dainty clusters. The flowers are small and open to a pale-pink color from deep-pink buds. The small, deeply-serrated leaves turn shades of red and orange in the autumn months, adding a bright splash of color to the landscape. Prunus x subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ is an excellent choice for smaller gardens and also makes a great street tree. Prunus x subhirtella is a hybrid between Prunus itosakura (syn. Prunus subhirtella) and Prunus incisa. Prunus x subhirtella is deciduous and native to Japan.
