Prunus x blireiana
Flowering Plum
This is a beautiful tree that produces a profusion of fragrant, rose-pink, double blossoms from late-winter to early-spring. Its rich purple leaves persist throughout the summer and maintain their color until they fall in autumn. Prunus x blireiana is great for smaller gardens and makes an excellent street tree. Prunus x blireiana is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Prunus mume and Prunus cerasifera ‘Atropurpurea’ (syn. Prunus cerasifera ‘Pissardii’).
