Prunus serrulata ‘Tai-haku’

Prunus serrulata ‘Tai-haku’ is tall with a spreading growth habit and a rounded crown. In mid-spring, Prunus serrulata ‘Tai-haku’ produces large, pure-white, single, slightly-fragrant flowers that are borne in large clusters from pink buds, making it a spectacular blossom tree. The large leaves of Prunus serrulata ‘Tai-haku’ mature to a deep-green color over the summer months and turn shades of yellow, red, and orange in the autumn, adding a bright splash of color to the landscape. A single specimen was found in 1923 by Collingwood Ingram in a garden in Sussex, England from which Prunus serrulata ‘Tai-haku’ has returned to cultivation.
