Prunus serrulata ‘Kiku-shidare-zakura’ has branches that arch before cascading down towards the ground. In mid to late-spring, it produces large, double, frilly, pink flowers that are borne in clusters. The spring leaves are bronze in color, and they turn green over the summer months. In the autumn, the leaves turn shades of red, orange, and yellow, adding a bright splash of color to the landscape. Prunus serrulata is deciduous and native to China and Korea. ‘Kiku-shidare-zakura’ originated in Japan in the 19th century.
