Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’

Young trees of this cultivar have a narrow, erect, vase-shaped growth habit, but they spread out as they mature. In mid to late-spring, Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ produces large, fully-double, pink flowers held in drooping clusters, which open from deep-pink buds. The bronze leaves emerge with the flowers, providing a nice contrast. In the autumn, the leaves turn shades of red, orange, and yellow, adding a bright splash of color to the landscape. Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ is an excellent choice for lining avenues and driveways and is also known for being one of the wind-hardiest flowering cherry trees.
