The fruit is a sizable, circular, and vivid red plum with fragrant, amber-colored flesh. It is densely meaty, sugary, and succulent, ripening in the middle to late part of summer. Prunus salicina ‘Fortune’ bears white blossoms during the spring season, and its pollinator is Prunus salicina ‘Santa Rosa’. Additionally, the leaves of Prunus salicina ‘Fortune’ turn yellow during the autumn months. Prunus salicina is deciduous and native to Russia, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
