In late-autumn, small dessert pears with russeted, green skin ripen. Pear ‘Winter Cole’ is a prolific and reliable fruiter, and has a spreading growth habit. The fruit lasts well into winter, making it a good keeper. The pollinators of Pear ‘Winter Cole’ include Pear ‘Beurre Bosc’, Pear ‘Packham’s Triumph’, and Pear ‘Williams’ Bon Chrétien’. During spring, Pear ‘Winter Cole’ produces white blossoms, and in autumn, its leaves turn yellow and orange. Pear is deciduous and native to Europe. Pear ‘Winter Cole’ is a seedling of Pear ‘Winter Nelis’ that was raised by J. C. Cole in Richmond, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and was introduced in the late 1880s.
