Paulownia tomentosa
Princess Tree
Paulownia tomentosa is a broad-spreading tree with a stout trunk and horizontal branches. It features huge, tropical-looking leaves that are sure to make a statement in any landscape. During the spring, large, showy, fragrant violet-blue flowers with white inners adorn the bare branches, adding a splash of color to Paulownia tomentosa. While Paulownia tomentosa is capable of withstanding moderate frosts and inland salty gales, it will not thrive right on the coast. Paulownia tomentosa is deciduous and native to China and South Korea.
