Olive
Olive ‘Manzanillo’ produces olives that have excellent texture and are great for eating. It is also one of the best pickling olives available. The branches spread outwards, making it a great choice for pleaching. However, it is not suitable for cold areas. While it is partially self-fertile, it produces the best crops when it is planted alongside Olive ‘Frantoio’. The fruit ripens in autumn, transitioning from green to red before ultimately becoming a purple-black color. It features white flowers during the summer and has grey-green leaves. Olive is evergreen and native from the Mediterranean through Africa to China. Learn more about Olive. Olive ‘Manzanillo’ originated around the city of Seville in Spain.
