Nestegis cunninghamii develops a thick, straight trunk with coarse, corky bark and has long, leathery, dark-green leaves on a dense-headed tree. It produces bunches of bright-red berries in mid-spring and is considered the best firewood among our native timbers. Nestegis cunninghamii is evergreen and native to New Zealand.
