This strong-growing tree has a neat, pyramidal shape and produces highly-perfumed, magnolia-like blooms in early spring to early summer. The flowers are large, cream-white, and emerge from showy, brown, furry buds. The glossy, rich-green leaves of Michelia doltsopa drop when it’s in bloom, but it quickly refoliates.
