Metrosideros robusta ‘Kawa Copper’ has been selected for its bushy, stocky growth habit and copper-red new growth, making it an excellent cultivar for hedging. Metrosideros robusta ‘Kawa Copper’ has small leaves that can be clipped to any desired shape or form. Rust-red flowers are borne from early to mid-summer. Metrosideros robusta ‘Kawa Copper’ is quite cold hardy and is tolerant of moderate coastal exposure. Metrosideros robusta is evergreen and native to New Zealand. Metrosideros robusta ‘Kawa Copper’ was selected in 2001 from a batch of seedlings raised by Deane Keir in New Zealand.
