Malus tschonoskii is a beautiful, pyramidal grower with spring leaves that have a silver-white, felted appearance. During summer, the leaves of Malus tschonoskii are bright green and have a white, felted underside. In the fall, Malus tschonoskii puts on a magnificent display of orange, red, and purple leaves. Additionally, Malus tschonoskii produces white flowers in the spring, but hardly any fruit. This makes it an excellent choice as a street tree. Malus tschonoskii is deciduous and native to Japan.
