Malus trilobata
Crabapple
Malus trilobata has an erect, pyramidal growth habit, with sturdy stems that bear gorgeous, deeply-lobed leaves resembling those of a maple tree. The leaves are glossy green during the summer months and transform into brilliant shades of red and orange in the autumn season. In the spring, Malus trilobata produces large, single white blossoms, but it hardly produces any fruit. Overall, this specimen makes an excellent street tree. Malus trilobata is deciduous and native to Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey. Learn more about Malus trilobata.
