In spring, stunning scarlet-red flowers are produced, while from early autumn to late winter, clusters of dark-red, oval-shaped crabapples can be seen. Malus ‘Tom Matthews’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and was developed by Matthews Nurseries in Whanganui, New Zealand.
