Malus ‘Echtermeyer’
Crabapple
Malus ‘Echtermeyer’ has a graceful, wide-spreading canopy and produces red-tinted new leaves that change to purple and then to purple-green over the summer. In the spring, Malus ‘Echtermeyer’ produces beautiful rose-crimson flowers, and in the autumn, small red-purple crabapples follow. Malus ‘Echtermeyer’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Malus x scheideckeri ‘Exzellenz Thiel’ and Malus sieversii f. niedzwetzkyana.
