Malus baccata ‘Jackii’ is a broad-headed, upright grower with dark-green leaves that can reach up to 11cm long. In the spring, shell-pink buds open up to large, white flowers that are approximately 4cm wide. Additionally, small, purple-red crabapples that are about 1cm wide can be found on Malus baccata ‘Jackii’ in the autumn. Malus baccata ‘Jackii’ is an excellent all-round tree and is resistant to disease and pollution. It is ideal for planting in avenues and as a street tree, and its leaves turn yellow and orange in the autumn. Malus baccata is deciduous and native to Russia, Mongolia, China, Korea, Bhutan, India, and Nepal. Malus baccata ‘Jackii’ was collected in 1905 by J. G. Jack in Seoul, South Korea for the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
