Michelia x foggii 'Bubbles' forms a wide-spreading, pyramidal shape and has glossy, deep-green leaves. Its velvet buds open to slightly fragrant, cream-white, rounded flowers with pink edges in the spring. Michelia x foggii is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Michelia figo and Michelia doltsopa. Michelia x foggii was first crossed in 1972 by John Fogg at the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Michelia x foggii 'Bubbles' was developed before 2000 by Oswald Blumhardt in Whangārei, New Zealand.
