Magnolia ‘Sundance’ produces elegant yellow flowers which appear on the bare branches in mid-spring. The flowers can reach up to 20cm wide. Magnolia ‘Sundance’ has a tidy, conical shape with slender branches, and it begins to flower from an early age. Magnolia ‘Sundance’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Magnolia acuminata and Magnolia denudata. Magnolia ‘Sundance’ was raised before 1986 by August Kehr in North Carolina, United States from seed provided by Joe McDaniel in Illinois, United States.
