Magnolia ‘Serene’
Magnolia
Magnolia ‘Serene’ produces large, rounded, bowl-shaped flowers in a deep rose-pink color with ivory-white interiors. The blooms are slightly fragrant and last for a long period during mid to late spring. Magnolia ‘Serene’ starts blooming at a young age and is an excellent option for a street tree. It has a strong-growing, upright growth habit. Magnolia ‘Serene’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Magnolia liliiflora and Magnolia ‘Mark Jury’. Magnolia ‘Serene’ was raised by Felix Jury in New Zealand and was introduced in the early 1970s by Oswald Blumhardt in Whangārei, New Zealand.
