Michelia ‘Fairy Cream’ has shining, pale-green leaves and a strong, horizontal branching structure that makes it ideal for training, particularly pleaching. From early spring, it produces long, russet buds that open to fragrant, star-shaped cream flowers. Michelia ‘Fairy Cream’ can be grown as a specimen tree. Michelia ‘Fairy Cream’ is correctly known as Magnolia ‘Fairy Cream’, but the incorrect name has been retained for consistency with the New Zealand market. Magnolia ‘Fairy Cream’ is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and was bred by Mark Jury in Tikorangi, Taranaki, New Zealand and introduced in 2013 (PVR 31113).
