Michelia doltsopa ‘Silver Cloud’

This selection of Michelia doltsopa begins flowering in its first years, producing large, cream-white flowers that bloom from early spring to early summer. The flowers can be up to 20cm wide and typically have about 30 tepals. Michelia doltsopa is evergreen and native to Bhutan, Myanmar, China, India, and Nepal. Michelia doltsopa ‘Silver Cloud’ was selected in the 1950s or 1960s by Duncan & Davies Nurseries in New Plymouth, New Zealand from a seedling sent to New Zealand by Hillier Nurseries in the United Kingdom.
