Magnolia ‘Brixton Belle’
Magnolia
This neat and spreading tree is well-suited for smaller gardens and blooms in mid-spring with large, cup and saucer-shaped flowers. The flowers are a rich-pink color with pale-pink interiors and Magnolia ‘Brixton Belle’ typically begins flowering in the first year with an abundance of blooms. In some cases, it may have a second flowering during the summer. Magnolia ‘Brixton Belle’ is deciduous, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Magnolia campbellii ‘Sir Harold Hillier’ and the hybrid formed between Magnolia x soulangeana ‘Sweet Simplicity’ and Magnolia ‘Black Tulip’. Magnolia ‘Brixton Belle’ was raised by Vance Hooper in Brixton, Taranaki, New Zealand and released into commerce by Magnolia Grove in Waitara, Taranaki, New Zealand about 2010.
