Liriodendron tulipifera ‘Aureomarginatum’ has strikingly variegated large green leaves that are heavily bordered with a rich golden-yellow. The color may become more muted during summer, but it intensifies through autumn. Liriodendron tulipifera ‘Aureomarginatum’ forms a pyramid of up-swept branches and can lighten up any dull area. In summer, Liriodendron tulipifera ‘Aureomarginatum’ produces fragrant yellow, orange-banded, tulip-shaped flowers. Liriodendron tulipifera is deciduous and native to eastern North America. Liriodendron tulipifera ‘Aureomarginatum’ was first noted by Louis van Houtte in Belgium in 1869.
