Feijoa sellowiana ‘Pounamu’
Feijoa
Feijoa sellowiana ‘Pounamu’ produces medium-sized fruit with sweet and juicy flesh that has a rich flavour. The fruit has a dark-green skin and is high-yielding, fruiting in mid-autumn. In addition, Feijoa sellowiana ‘Pounamu’ produces beautiful red flowers from late-spring to mid-summer. It is also coastal and wind-hardy, making it an excellent choice for hedges and screens. While it is partially self-fertile, it produces better crops when planted with any other feijoa cultivar. Feijoa sellowiana is evergreen and native to the highlands of southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, Uruguay, northern Argentina, and Colombia. Learn more about Feijoa sellowiana.
