Feijoa sellowiana ‘Opal Star’
Feijoa
Feijoa sellowiana ‘Opal Star’ has a compact, upright growth habit and produces medium to large-sized fruit with thin, smooth skin and abundant sweet and juicy pulp. The fruit is typically harvested from mid to late-autumn. It also produces beautiful red flowers from late-spring to mid-summer. Feijoa sellowiana ‘Opal Star’ is coastal and wind-hardy, making it an excellent choice for hedges and screens. While it is partially self-fertile, better crops are achieved when planted with any other feijoa cultivar. Feijoa sellowiana is evergreen and native to the highlands of southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, Uruguay, northern Argentina, and Colombia. Learn more about Feijoa sellowiana.
