The fruit is typically harvested from mid to late-autumn. It also produces beautiful red flowers from late-spring to mid-summer. Feijoa sellowiana ‘Opal Star’ is coastal and wind-hardy, making it an excellent choice for hedges and screens. While it is partially self-fertile, better crops are achieved when planted with any other feijoa cultivar.
