Fagus sylvatica 'Riversii'
European Beech

Large, dome-shaped tree with an open branch structure and smooth grey bark. Larger leaves than the usual purple beech. Rich, deep, purple, shiny leaves in spring. This colouring is held throughout the summer. The autumn leaves are yellow then brown through winter and shed prior to the new leaves emerging. A magnificent specimen tree.
