Dysoxylum spectabile
Kohekohe
Dysoxylum spectabile is an attractive, erect species that is well-suited for coastal areas with windy conditions, although it requires good soil and protection from frost. It produces scented white flowers in panicles from early autumn to mid-winter, which add to its visual appeal. Dysoxylum spectabile also has large, glossy green leaves, which further enhance its beauty. Dysoxylum spectabile is correctly known as Didymocheton spectabilis, but the incorrect name has been retained for consistency with the New Zealand market. Didymocheton spectabilis is evergreen and native to New Zealand. Learn more about Didymocheton spectabilis.
