Cupressus torulosa is an upright grower with green to blue-green foliage. It has good tolerance to cypress canker and is an excellent choice for shelter belts where trimming is difficult or not possible. It can also be used for hedging. Cupressus torulosa prefers to grow in free-draining soil. Cupressus torulosa is evergreen and native to the mountainous northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, primarily the Himalayas.
