Camellia x williamsii ‘Les Jury’ produces large, double to peony-form, deep crimson-red flowers that are typically 10cm wide by 5cm deep, with 75 or more petals and 10 or more petaloids. It blooms from early to late winter, adding a pop of color during the colder months. Camellia x williamsii ‘Les Jury’ has an upright growth habit with dark-green leaves that are usually 8cm long by 4cm wide, and makes an excellent hedge plant. Camellia x williamsii is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid formed between Camellia japonica and Camellia saluenensis and was originally bred in 1923 at Caerhays Castle in Cornwall, England by John Charles Williams.
