It has a strong, bushy, and narrow-growing habit, producing flowers from early winter to late spring. The growth habit of Camellia japonica ‘Takanini’ is upright, with dark-green leaves that are typically 9cm long by 4cm wide. The flowers are usually 8 to 9cm wide by 3.5cm deep, with 15 petals and 140 to 200 petaloids, occasionally featuring anthers.
