Camellia ‘Fairy Wand’ features small, semi-double red-pink flowers and has an upright, open growth habit with dark-green leaves, usually measuring 5cm long by 2.5cm wide. It blooms from early-winter through spring, and the flowers are typically 4cm wide by 2.5cm deep, containing 15 petals. Camellia ‘Fairy Wand’ is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Camellia ‘Tiny Princess’ and the hybrid formed between Camellia saluenensis and Camellia japonica ‘Kon-wabisuke’ (syn. Camellia japonica ‘Fuyajo’). Camellia ‘Fairy Wand’ was produced by Oswald Blumhardt in Whangārei, New Zealand.
