Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii ‘Jermyns’

Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii ‘Jermyns’ is vigorous and has a broad, conical shape. It features an attractive white bark that peels off in horizontal, papery flakes. Its dark green leaves turn a beautiful golden-yellow color during the autumn season. Betula utilis is deciduous and native to the Western Himalayas. Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii ‘Jermyns’ originally came to Messrs Hillier in the United Kingdom from a Belgian nursery as Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii and were so uniform as to indicate that they had been propagated vegetatively.
